Europe Brexit monitor

Brexit

The United Kingdom is no longer a member of the European Union (EU). After a transition period that lasted until the end of 2020, a partnership agreement negotiated between the EU and the United Kingdom came into force provisionally on 1st January 2021. With the UK's withdrawal from the EU single market and the customs union, the Brexit process has now been finalized.

What are the implications of Brexit?

The impact of Brexit on various indicators cannot be precisely quantified. In the following, we present a selection of statistical indicators for which a certain Brexit impact can be assumed. However, numerous other factors also play a role in the development of these indicators - the question of causality is complex and would require more in-depth analysis.
