According to results of quarterly cash statistics, revenue of the core and extra budgets of the overall public budget rose by 8.0% to 484.8 billion euros in the first quarter of 2025. Expenditure rose by 6.4% to 531.7 billion euros. This was a cash deficit - as defined in public finance statistics - of 46.9 billion euros in the first quarter of 2025.
