The monthly data released in accordance with the EU Budgetary Frameworks Directive show a financial deficit in October 2023 for the core budgets of central government and state government. For central government the financial deficit amounted to roughly 68.2 billion euros and for state government the financial deficit amounted to roughly 3.0 billion euros.
Due to infra-annual fluctuations in expenditure and revenue, forecasts for the annual result cannot be made yet on this basis. Differences between the monthly data and the results of quarterly cash statistics are shown in the explanatory notes on the statistics.
