According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the turnover of motor vehicle trade enterprises in Germany increased by 1.3% price-, calendar and seasonally adjusted in June 2021 compared to the previous month. The volume of motor vehicle sales in June 2021 was 0.4% higher than in the previous month. The maintenance and repair of motor vehicles turnover increased by 5.3% compared to the previous month. The sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories in June 2021 was 0.8% higher than in May 2021. The volume of sales with maintenance, repair of motorcycles and related parts as well as accessories increased by 10.6% in June 2021 compared to the previous month. Accordingly, all four motor vehicle trade branches showed a higher turnover than in May 2021.
The results above are adjusted for the influence of both calendar and seasonal effects. These effects can be filtered by using specific calculation techniques. The results are then termed as calendar and seasonally adjusted data. Due to the calendar and seasonal adjustment, the monthly sales developments are comparable. Therefore, the rates of change to the previous month are provided.

Turnover of motor vehicle trade in June 2021 increased by 16.3% price adjusted compared to June 2020
The turnover of motor vehicle trade enterprises in Germany increased by 16.3% inreal terms (price adjusted) in June 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year. The volume of motor vehicle sales in June 2021 was 17.1% higher than in June 2020. The price adjusted turnover of maintenance and repair of motor vehicles was 10.3% higher compared to the same month a year earlier. The volume of motor vehicle parts and accessories sales in June 2021 increased by 17.6% compared to June 2020. The volume of turnover in the economic trade branches of maintenance and repair of motorcycles, related parts and accessories, was 6.1% higher than in June 2020. Accordingly, all four motor vehicle trade branches increased turnover volumes compared to June 2020.
