31 March 2025 Import prices in February 2025: +3.6% on February 2024

Import prices were 3.6% higher in February 2025 than in February 2024. This was the largest year-on-year increase recorded since January 2023 (+5.3% on January 2022). Compared with the same month a year earlier, the rate of change was +3.1% in January 2025, and +2.0% in December 2024. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that import prices in February 2025 rose by 0.3% on January 2025.

What is collected is purchase prices (preferably in euros), which should refer to the terms of trade "cost, insurance, freight" (cif), where possible. The prices do not include any public charges or subsidies (customs duties, monetary compensatory amounts, import turnover tax, excise duties).
