The consumer price index for Germany measures the average price change for all goods and services purchased by households for consumption purposes. Such goods and services are, for example, food, rents, electricity, fuels and hairdresser services.
The percentage change to the previous year of the consumer price index for Germany is colloquially also called inflation rate.
