International statistics Youth unemployment rate

Definition: The youth un­em­ploy­ment rate relates the pro­portion of the un­em­ployed labour force aged 15 to 24 to total un­em­ploy­ment. The labour force con­sists of all em­ployed and unem­ployed per­sons of work­ing age. A per­son is considered unem­ployed, if they were not em­ployed during the ref­er­ence period, but were ac­tive­ly seek­ing em­ploy­ment in the four weeks prior to the sur­vey and were able to take up a new po­si­tion with­in two weeks.
