Statistical range: The databases with unlimited access include only a limited amount of indicators e.g. primary commodity price indices, external debt and public sector debt, foreign direct investments and portfolio investments. The IMF offers more free data in the World Economic Outlook database and the Principal Global Indicators (G-20 data) database.
Periodicity / time series: Data is provided on an annual basis but there are also weekly and monthly prices for commodities.
Charges / registration: The data and statistics section offers several databases with limited access but also freely available data.
The International Financial Statistics (IFS) and other major databases require a subscription for full access.
