WIESBADEN – In November 2018, production in industry was down by 1.9% from the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The revised figure shows a decrease of 0.8% (primary -0.5%) from October 2018.
In November 2018, production in industry excluding energy and construction was down by 1.8%. Within industry, the production of capital goods decreased by 1.8% and the production of intermediate goods by 1.0%. The production of consumer goods showed a decrease of 4.1%. Outside industry, energy production was down by 3.1% in November 2018 and the production in construction decreased by 1.7%.
The rates of change refer to the production index for the industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment is done using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
