Press Exports in the 3rd quarter of 2024: +0.5% on the same quarter of the previous year

  • Total imports slightly up on the same period a year earlier (+0.3%) but decline within the EU
  • Imports from China rose to 40.5 billion euros

WIESBADEN – German exports on the whole increased by 0.5% to 384.0 billion euros in the 3rd quarter of 2024 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that exports to the Member States of the European Union (EU) decreased by 1.0% to 204.8 billion euros, however. The value of goods dispatches to euro area countries fell by 1.5% to 141.9 billion euros, while exports to EU Member States not belonging to the euro area rose slightly by 0.2% to 63.0 billion euros. Exports to countries outside the EU (third countries) increased by 2.2% to 179.1 billion euros.
