WIESBADEN – Employers in industry and the service sector in Germany paid an average of 39.50 euros per hour worked in 2022. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that Germany has thus ranked seventh in terms of labour costs in the European Union (EU-27) since 2019. A comparison across the EU shows that Luxembourg had the highest labour costs per hour worked (50.70 euros) and Bulgaria the lowest (8.20 euros).
