Turnover in accommodation and food services, January 2023 (provisional results, calendar and seasonally adjusted)
+7.1%, in real terms, on the previous month

WIESBADEN - In January 2023, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services increased by a real (price adjusted) 7.1% and a nominal (not price adjusted) 8.9% compared with December 2022. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports, however, that in January 2023 the turnover in accommodation and food services (in real terms and after adjustment for calendar and seasonal fluctuations) was 12.7% below the level of January 2019, the corresponding month before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Germany.
