WIESBADEN – The volume of waste produced by households in Germany continued to rise in 2021. 483 kilograms of household waste per capita were collected according to provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). A total of 40.2 million tonnes of waste were collected from households in 2021, which is roughly 1.5% or 0.6 million tonnes more than a year earlier.
