WIESBADEN – The prices of new residential buildings (conventional construction) in Germany rose by 16.5% in August 2022 compared with August 2021, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In May 2022, the previous reference month of the statistics, prices had increased by 17.6% year on year. Compared with May 2022, construction prices were up 2.6% in August 2022. All price data refer to construction operations performed at the building, including value-added tax.
