WIESBADEN – In 2020, the establishments of the industry and service sectors in Germany generated a turnover of roughly 11.7 billion euros from goods and services for air quality control, or 14.8% of total turnover in environmental protection (78.9 billion euros). Electric mobility accounted for 3.5 billion euros, or 29.7%, of the turnover generated from goods and services for air quality control, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Air quality control includes measures and activities designed to maintain the natural air barrier or avoid airborne pollutants (smoke, carbon black, dust, gases, aerosols, fumes or odorants) in waste gas and exhaust air.
