WIESBADEN – In 2021, German public assistance institutions spent a net amount of 15.3 billion euros on public assistance benefits in accordance with the Social Code, Book XII (SGB XII). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that expenditure rose by 6.5% compared with the previous year.
