WIESBADEN – The establishments of the industry and service sectors in Germany generated a turnover of 78.9 billion euros from goods, services and construction operations for environmental protection in 2020. That is a 7.2% increase on a year earlier. The number of persons employed in the production of environmental goods and services in Germany amounted to approximately 311,000 in 2020 (full-time equivalents), according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The number of green jobs was up by 2.0%, which is an increase of roughly 6,000 persons employed compared with a year earlier.
