WIESBADEN – In February 2022, the construction price index for conventionally constructed new residential buildings (construction work performed at the building; including turnover tax) in Germany was up 14.3% compared with February 2021. In November 2021, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the price index increased by 14.4% on a year earlier. Compared with November 2021, the price index for residential buildings rose by 4.4% in February 2022.
As far as non-residential buildings were concerned, the price index for office buildings and for industrial buildings was up 15.3% in February 2022 compared with February 2021. The price index relating to road construction rose by 9.8% compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.
