- Lung and bronchial cancer particularly common

WIESBADEN – Fewer patients were treated for cancer in hospital in 2020 than a year earlier. To coincide with World Cancer Day, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that just under 1.45 million people suffering from cancer were treated in hospital, which is a decline of 6% on 2019 (1.54 million cases). The decrease was thus smaller for cancer treatments than for total hospital treatments (-13% compared with 2019).
