WIESBADEN – In 2021, 36% of the enterprises in Germany with a minimum of ten persons employed used devices or systems that can be remotely controlled via the internet. Based on data from Eurostat, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the extent to which IoT technologies were used in Germany in 2021 was above average compared with the other European countries. The EU average was 29%. IoT technologies were used most frequently in Austria (51%), Slovenia (49%), Finland (40%) and Sweden (40%).
