WIESBADEN – Christmas is coming. Many children and adults have been looking forward all year especially to the Christmas tree, whether it is put up and decorated in Advent or just before Christmas Eve. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that roughly 2.0 million Christmas trees were imported from Denmark in 2020. Our northern neighbour thus provided just under 91% of the total of roughly 2.1 million fresh Christmas trees imported. In 2019 the proportion had been 88%. Two thirds of the Danish trees arrived here as early as in November 2020, the last third in December.
