WIESBADEN – Accounting for 47% of the total area under grain, winter wheat again tops the list of grain cultivated in 2021. Based on first estimates, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that farmers in Germany have sown winter wheat for harvest in 2021 on 2.84 million hectares. This is an increase of 81,400 hectares (+3.0%) compared with a year earlier.
