Press China was Germany’s most important trading partner in 2020 for the fifth year in a row

WIESBADEN – The People’s Republic of China was Germany’s most important trading partner in 2020 for the fifth consecutive year. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that goods to the value of 212.1 billion euros were traded between the two countries. Turnover of trade with China increased by 3.0% on 2019 despite the corona crisis. The Netherlands ranked second among the most important trading partners with a foreign trade turnover of 172.8 billion euros (-8.7%), followed by the United States in third place with 171.6 billion euros (-9.7%).
