Press E-scooters: 1,570 accidents with personal injury from January to September 2020

WIESBADEN – The streets in German cities can no longer be imagined without e-scooters. For the first time since they were legalised accident figures are now available for a year including the summer season. From January to September 2020, the police registered a total of 1,570 accidents with e-scooters in Germany in which people were injured or killed. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that a total of seven people were killed, 269 e-scooter users were severely and 1,096 slightly injured.
