WIESBADEN – Turnover in the non-financial business economy in Germany was markedly up in December 2020 from November 2020 despite another lockdown. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the nominal (not price adjusted) turnover increased by a seasonally and calendar adjusted 5.1%. After reaching its lowest point in April 2020, turnover in the non-financial business economy increased continuously and in December 2020 exceeded the level of February 2020 by 6.6%, that is the month before restrictions were imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany.
