WIESBADEN – In autumn 2020, agricultural holdings in Germany sowed winter grain on 5.10 million hectares of land for the next harvest of 2021. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the area cultivated with winter grain for the 2021 harvest remained almost unchanged compared with the area in 2020 (+1.0%). Winter grain comprises winter wheat, winter barley, rye and maslin as well as triticale, the wheat-rye hybrid.
