WIESBADEN – The average life expectancy of newborn girls currently is 83.4 years and that of newborn boys 78.6 years. Based on the results of the life table for 2017/2019, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the life expectancy of both girls and boys in Germany was up by roughly 0.1 years compared with the previous calculation (for the period 2016 to 2018).
