Press release No. 373 of 27 August 2020
WIESBADEN – Turnover in the non-financial business economy in Germany was down slightly in August 2020 compared with July 2020. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the nominal (not price adjusted) turnover increased by a seasonally and calendar adjusted 1.3%. After reaching a low point in April 2020 and rising for three months in a row, turnover now declined again. However, the figures may have to be revised upwards due to late data deliveries. Before revisions, the figure for August is 4.7% lower than the one for February 2020, the month before restrictions were imposed because of the corona pandemic in Germany.
