WIESBADEN – RWTH Aachen University was the university in Germany which raised the highest third party funds in 2018. Having 324 million euros of third party funds at its disposal, RWTH Aachen University ranked first again, as in the previous years. Professors at German universities raised third party funds of an average of 281,700 euros each. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was a 5.8% increase on 2017. To allow comparisons between universities with and without medical institutions, medical institutions/health sciences of universities are not included here, one of the reasons being their high third-party funds.
