WIESBADEN – In the first half of 2020, roughly 58,000 businesses were started in Germany whose legal form and number of employees suggest that they have greater economic importance. Based on an evaluation of business notifications, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a 9.4% decline compared with the first half of 2019.
