- stock of vehicles increasing by 50% from 2015 to 2020
- prices of motor homes and trailers rising at the start of the peak season

WIESBADEN – As there still are travel restrictions due to the corona crisis, camping holidays are particularly popular with German holidaymakers this year. The number of new motor home registrations soared in Germany in May 2020.

As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the basis of figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, there were 10,460 new registrations or a good 29% more than in May 2019. Motor homes are the only passenger car segment which recorded an increase in registrations. There were well above 168,000 new registrations of passenger cars in May 2020, a decline of nearly 50% on the same month a year earlier.
