WIESBADEN– The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index, is expected to be -0.1% in July 2020. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that consumer prices are expected to decline by 0.5% on June 2020. Among others, the inflation rate has been influenced by the value added tax reduction effective as of 1 July 2020.

Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union, will publish its flash estimate of Euro area annual inflation for July 2020 on Friday, 31 July 2020.
