- Year-on-year decline year mainly affecting conventional energy sources

WIESBADEN –In April 2020, a total of 36.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Germany and fed into the grid. According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), this was a 16.7% decrease on April 2019. This means that April 2020 was the first month to show a substantial impact of the corona crisis on the electricity market due to lower electricity demand.
