Overnight stays, April 2020

-89.3% on the same month a year earlier
WIESBADEN – In April 2020, there were only 4.3 million overnight stays of visitors from Germany and abroad in accommodation establishments. This was just over a tenth of the visitor number recorded in the same month of the previous year, and a decline by 89.3%. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this represents the largest year-on-year monthly decrease since the beginning of the time series in 1992.
