WIESBADEN – The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index, is expected to be +0.6% in May 2020. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that consumer prices are expected to decline by 0.1% on April 2020.

Again, some prices could not be collected in the reference month of May 2020 due to the present coronavirus crisis. However, the number of prices obtained was up again from April 2020. So the quality of the provisional overall results is assured also for May 2020.
