Press release No. 130 of 8 April 2020
WIESBADEN – Demand for specific convenience goods continues to be strong in the corona crisis. A special evaluation of experimental data by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) shows that the sales figures of selected products were partly significantly lower in the period from 30 March to 4 April 2020 than in the previous weeks. Sales of toilet tissue were nearly one third lower (–29%) than the average of the preceding six months, whereas such sales had exceeded the six-month average by just under half (+46%) in the preceding week (23 to 29 March).
