WIESBADEN – The per-pupil amount spent on education in public schools from the public budgets averaged 7,300 euros in 2017. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of roughly 200 euros on a year earlier.
The per capita spending varied between the different types of schools. At schools of general education, an average of 8,000 euros were spent per pupil. The relevant expenditure amounted to 6,400 euros at primary schools and to 8,600 euros at integrated comprehensive schools.
