WIESBADEN – Blueberries were cultivated on an area of 3,160 hectares in Germany in 2019. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the area under cultivation rose by 70% since it had first been covered in 2012. In 2019, cultivated blueberries grew on roughly one third of the total area under cultivation with bush berries in Germany (just under 9,310 hectares). The largest share of the total area of bush berry cultivation was in Niedersachsen (roughly one quarter).
