WIESBADEN – Owing to the risk of coronavirus spread, several airlines have discontinued their regular services to and from China. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that from January to November 2019 approximately 1.5 million passengers flew from China to Germany, which is about the same number of passengers as in all of 2018 (1.6 million). These figures include only direct flights. For comparison: 720,000 air passengers from Japan and 5.3 million passengers from the United States landed on German airports in 2018.
