WIESBADEN – More police staff and more personnel in municipal day care centres for children increased public service employment until mid-2018. To coincide with the Public Service Day on 23 June, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that roughly 4.8 million people were employed in the public service on 30 June 2018, according to provisional results. These were 60,500 staff members or 1.3% more than a year earlier.
