WIESBADEN – In the apprenticeship market, boys choose more often natural science and technology occupations, while girls prefer nursing care occupations. To coincide with the action "Girls' Day / Boys' Day" taking place all over Germany on 28 March, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the proportion of male apprentices in nursing care occupations was 22% in apprenticeship year 2017/2018. The proportion of female apprentices in recognised vocational training occupations of the "natural sciences, geography and computer science" sector was 17%.
