WIESBADEN – In 2017, 551 enterprises reported a turnover of more than one billion euros each in their advance turnover tax returns. The number of enterprises increased by 35 compared with 2016. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the total value of supplies and services of the billionaire companies amounted to 2.0 trillion euros. These accounted for 31.9% of the turnover of all enterprises liable to pay tax.
All in all, roughly 3.3 million enterprises submitted advance turnover tax returns with an expected turnover of nearly 6.4 trillion euros (excl. turnover tax).
