WIESBADEN – In 2017, 10% of the women living in a household together with a partner had the formally higher educational attainment in the relationship. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the opposite case was more frequent. In over a quarter of the couples (27%), the men had a higher educational attainment than their female partner. In the majority (63%) of the cases, however, women and men living in a partnership in Germany had roughly the same educational level.
