WIESBADEN – There are approximately 1 million monuments in Germany. Based on information from the Land offices for the preservation of monuments, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 63% of the monuments were architectural monuments, consisting of individual listed buildings and gardens as well as ensembles of listed buildings. Archaeological monuments accounted for 37%.
