WIESBADEN – In April 2018,production in industry was down by 1.0% from the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In March 2018, the corrected figure shows an increase of 1.7% (primary +1.0%) from February 2018.
In April 2018, production in industry excluding energy and construction was down by 1.7%. Within industry, the production of capital goods decreased by 1.3% and the production of consumer goods by 2.1%. The production of intermediate goods showed a decrease by 2.0%. Energy production was down by 1.6% in April 2018 and the production in construction increased by 3.3%.
The rates of change refer to the production index for the industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment is done using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
