WIESBADEN – The percentage of environmental taxes in all receipts from taxes and social contributions amounted to 4.9% in Germany in 2016. To coincide with the World Climate Conference currently taking place in Bonn, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was the lowest proportion since the beginning of the time series in 1995.
