WIESBADEN – At the end of 2016, approximately 631,000 households in Germany received housing allowance. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this represented 1.5% of all households.
Household allowance is granted to low-income households to help them afford the costs of adequate and family-friendly housing.
