WIESBADEN – A total of 81% of the roughly 62 million internet users in the first quarter of 2016 went online with cellular or smartphones. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that 69% used laptops or netbooks and two thirds (65%) desktop computers to surf the web. About one in five internet users (19%) accessed the internet through a smart TV. 17% used another mobile device such as a game console or an e-book reader.
