Press Regional differences in life expectancy have decreased over the last 20 years

WIESBADEN – The differences in the life expectancy of newborn children between the Länder are decreasing. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the difference between the Länder with the highest life expectancy and those with the lowest has fallen by nearly half within the last 20 years. According to the results of the current life tables for the period 2013/2015, it is 3 years and 4 months for newborn boys and 1 year and 9 months for newborn girls.
