WIESBADEN – In 2014, investments in tangible fixed assets by enterprises with 20 or more persons employed in the energy, water and waste management industry increased by 10.9% on a year earlier. Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that, after three years of declining investments, this was the first increase since 2010 (+11.7%). The investment volume amounted to roughly 15 billion euros in 2014.
The increases were highest in waste water disposal (+30.6%), gas supply (+20.5%) and recovery (+19.5%).
